The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has initiated an investigation following the discovery of a decomposed body in a vehicle at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja. According to a statement from the FCT Police Command, the Commissioner of Police has mandated a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death and to identify the deceased. The Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Josephine Adeh, detailed that the police received a distress call regarding the lifeless body of an unidentified male, suspected to be a laborer, found at a construction site within the complex.

Upon arrival, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the National Assembly Division discovered the body inside a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF. The condition of the body indicated it was in an advanced state of decomposition, prompting immediate action. The remains were subsequently transported to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed the extent of decomposition.

The police command has reassured the public that efforts are being intensified to ascertain the identity of the deceased and to gather further information regarding the circumstances of the death. As the investigation continues, authorities have emphasized their commitment to transparency and public safety.
