Andrew Departs Royal Lodge as Epstein Files Resurface
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the former Duke of York, has reportedly vacated his residence at Royal Lodge, following the recent release of documents related to his connections with the late Jeffrey Epstein. According to credible sources, the 65-year-old is now residing temporarily at the Sandringham Estate while renovations are ongoing at his permanent home, Marsh Farm, located in Wolferton, Norfolk.
Departure Under Pressure
As pressure mounts for Andrew to testify in the United States regarding his association with Epstein, Buckingham Palace had previously indicated that he would leave Royal Lodge “as soon as possible and practicable.” Andrew’s removal from royal duties last year, connected to his links with Epstein, has intensified scrutiny from both the public and the media.
Reports suggest that the decision to leave Royal Lodge was not entirely voluntary. A source close to Andrew disclosed to The Sun that he had initially planned to extend his stay at the residence, but the emergence of the latest Epstein files made it clear that he needed to depart. The source described the departure as deeply humiliating for Andrew, noting, “Leaving was so humiliating for him that he chose to do it under the cover of darkness.”
Concerns Over Living Arrangements
Andrew’s new temporary residence at Marsh Farm has not met his expectations. Despite being a substantial property by most standards, he reportedly finds it “poky” and is “appalled” at the prospect of living in a home with just five bedrooms. This is a stark contrast to Royal Lodge, which offered a much more luxurious setting.
A confidant revealed that Andrew’s perception of Marsh Farm has been less than flattering. During a recent viewing, he reportedly remarked that the property was “beneath him,” calling it “too small” and “too isolated.” The source told The Daily Mail that he hasn’t lived anywhere that small since vacating his apartment at Buckingham Palace.
Furthermore, the lack of space for live-in staff has added to Andrew’s frustrations. While five bedrooms may seem generous to the average household, for a former prince accustomed to a lavish lifestyle, it presents a significant challenge.
As Andrew adjusts to his new circumstances, his brother, King Charles, is said to be increasingly concerned about the implications of Andrew’s past associations with Epstein. The late financier faced numerous legal issues, including federal charges related to the sex trafficking of minors in Florida and New York before his death in 2019.
In a recently disclosed email from December 2010, Andrew expressed a peculiar sentiment towards Epstein, stating, “God it’s cold and dank here! Wish I was still a pet in your family!” Such revelations only deepen the scrutiny surrounding his actions and associations.
As Andrew navigates this tumultuous period, the future remains uncertain. With ongoing investigations and media attention, he faces not only the challenge of adjusting to a new home but also the weight of his controversial past.
