Harry Styles Announces Affordable Manchester Show Amid Ticket Backlash
Harry Styles has revealed plans for a one-off concert in Manchester on March 6, 2026, coinciding with the release of his new album, KISS ALL THE TIME. DISCO, OCCASIONALLY. This announcement follows significant criticism from fans regarding the high ticket prices for his current Together Together tour, which led to accusations of him being “greedy” and “out of touch.”
The concert is scheduled to take place at the Co-op Arena, where tickets will be priced at a budget-friendly £20. This move appears to be a response to the outcry over ticket costs that have frustrated many of his supporters. Styles shared the concert news on social media, stating that ticket requests would open on Friday, with more details to follow.
The previous ticket sales for the Together Together tour, which includes a record twelve dates at London’s Wembley Stadium, sparked outrage among fans. Prices for these tickets ranged from £44 (approximately $60.80) to an astonishing £466.24 (around $642.76) for seated tickets, while standing tickets were priced between £144 (about $199.45) and £279 (approximately $385.34). VIP packages reached prices as high as £725 (around $1,000), which many fans deemed excessive.
Frustration among fans has been vocal, particularly on social media platforms. Comments have highlighted feelings of exclusion due to rising prices, with one fan lamenting, “Music should be accessible. Remember how you started.” Such sentiments echo a broader concern in the music industry regarding ticket pricing and artist accountability.
The controversy is not unique to Styles. Similar backlash was seen when tickets for the Oasis reunion tour were released, prompting investigations into dynamic pricing practices within the UK. Styles’ upcoming performances also include a return to the stage at the BRIT Awards, where he will perform at the same venue just days before the Manchester show.
As Styles prepares to embark on a global residency, spanning cities such as Amsterdam, São Paulo, and New York City, including an impressive thirty nights at Madison Square Garden, the ticket prices have again raised eyebrows. The costs for the Amsterdam shows, for instance, range from €74.05 (around $87.79) to €828.62 (approximately $982.38).
In contrast, Styles’ previous performances, such as his 2022 residency at Madison Square Garden, had tickets priced between $39.50 and $199.50, highlighting a sharp increase that has left many long-time fans disillusioned. In a bid to recover goodwill, the announcement of the affordable Manchester concert could be seen as an attempt to reconnect with his fanbase.
As the ticket sale dates approach, the industry will be watching closely to see how Styles navigates the changing landscape of concert ticket pricing and fan engagement.
