North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un has issued a stark warning, stating that his nuclear-armed nation could “completely destroy” South Korea if it perceives a threat. During the congress, Kim also reaffirmed his refusal to engage with South Korea while leaving the door open for potential dialogue with the United States, according to reports from state media.

The congress, highlighted by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), is a significant political event for North Korea, marking a moment for Kim to outline his policy objectives for the next five years. Analysts suggest that his recent rhetoric towards South Korea aims to reinforce North Korea’s assertive regional stance supported by its nuclear capabilities.
