Four-time world snooker champion Mark Selby is set to begin his campaign at the Masters tournament, which kicks off at Alexandra Palace. As he prepares for his first-round match against Xiao Guodong on Sunday evening, fans are getting a glimpse into his impressive home, a testament to his successful career in snooker. Selby enters the Masters full of confidence after winning the UK Championship in December 2023, where he added £598,950 to his earnings this season alone. In a tour facilitated by the World Snooker Tour, Selby showcased his luxurious home in Leicester, which reflects his accomplishments and lifestyle. The tour began in his practice room, adorned with photographs and memorabilia from his illustrious career. Central to this space is a snooker table, surrounded by a Wall of Honour that acknowledges every world champion, including himself.

As the tour continued, Selby revealed a stylish kitchen and lounge area, where a sign reading “Welcome to the Mad House” hangs above the entrance. The open-plan design features a large velvet sofa positioned in front of a television, seamlessly flowing into the kitchen, which serves as the heart of family life for Selby, his wife Vikki, and their daughter Sofia. The lounge’s design was enhanced after an extension brought the space closer to the kitchen.

The dining area offers views of the garden, which includes a play area for Sofia. However, the most striking feature is an indoor swimming pool housed in a unique structure at the rear of the property. This expansive outdoor area also includes a film projector, a pool table, and a bar, making it an ideal space for relaxation and entertainment.

Despite the luxury of having a pool at home, Selby shared a light-hearted anecdote about his inability to swim. “I still can’t swim. Sofia goes in a lot,” he said. He recounted a humorous moment with fellow snooker player Mark Williams, who once pretended to push him into the pool, prompting a panicked reaction from Selby.
