Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos for a working visit, aimed at engaging with key players in the private sector and state officials. This visit comes as Nigeria prepares for a modest celebration of its 65th Independence Anniversary. Prior to this, the President attended the coronation ceremony of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

During his time in Lagos, President Tinubu plans to hold discussions with various stakeholders in Nigeria’s private sector, along with senior government officials. According to a statement from his Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, these meetings are part of broader efforts to foster collaboration between the government and private enterprises.

The President’s itinerary also includes a trip to Imo State on September 30, 2025, where he will inaugurate completed projects under the leadership of Governor Hope Uzodimma. These initiatives are likely to showcase the government’s commitment to development and infrastructure improvements in the region.

As part of the 65th Independence Anniversary celebrations, President Tinubu is scheduled to inaugurate the remodeled National Theatre, which has been renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts. This rebranding honors the celebrated Nigerian playwright and Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, and signifies a dedication to cultural advancement and the arts in Nigeria.

The combination of these engagements highlights the administration’s focus on public-private partnerships as a means to enhance economic growth and development in Nigeria. As the nation marks this significant milestone, the outcomes of these discussions may play a crucial role in shaping the economic landscape moving forward.
