Footage from southeastern Ukraine has surfaced showing Russian military vehicles flying the United States flag, a development that follows a significant summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. During a media briefing after the summit, Trump stated, “Our relationship has never been worse than it is now. However, that changed as of about four hours ago. Lutsevych emphasized that Trump’s characterization of Russia as a “great country” and his remarks regarding a “strong mutual understanding” between the two leaders represent a significant shift, potentially undermining the Transatlantic alliance. This alliance has been a crucial counterbalance to Russian ambitions, and any fracture could align with Russia’s strategic goals.

On the same day as the summit, Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky along with leaders from several European nations, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Finland. Trump lauded the discussions, stating on his Truth Social platform that “Security Guarantees for Ukraine would be provided by the various European Countries, with coordination with the United States of America.” This coalition, referred to as the “Coalition of the Willing,” aims to bolster Ukraine’s defenses amid ongoing hostilities.
