Montenegrin Family in Berlin Continues Support for Caritas Montenegro
A Montenegrin family based in Berlin has reaffirmed its long-standing support for the humanitarian efforts of Caritas Montenegro. Their focus remains on the social kitchen in Tivtu, which operates under the auspices of the Kotor Diocese. This kitchen has become an essential resource for socially vulnerable residents in this coastal city.
During a recent visit to the social kitchen, Gordan Stojović, a member of the Montenegrin parliament, met with Don Željko Pasković, the director of Caritas Kotor. Stojović expressed gratitude for the ongoing initiative and support aimed at sustaining this vital humanitarian project. Pasković emphasized that the stability of such programs is crucial for their long-term functionality.
The initiative to continue support originated from Stojović, who conveyed a message from the Berlin-based family indicating their commitment to Caritas’s humanitarian projects in Montenegro. They recognize the broader societal significance and the role these initiatives play in supporting the most vulnerable segments of the population.
The Montenegrin family has been involved with the Tivtu social kitchen since its inception. Their contributions have included funding for the establishment, adaptation, and equipping of the facility, as well as securing a delivery vehicle for meal distribution. They also provided resources for the kitchen’s first year of operation, enabling it to develop and stabilize its services. Thanks to this support, the social kitchen in Tivtu now regularly provides meals to those in need.
During his visit, Stojović highlighted that Caritas and the Kotor Diocese maintain a permanent presence in Montenegro through their humanitarian and social engagement. He underscored the importance of the Croatian community as an integral part of Montenegrin society and a crucial element of its multicultural identity.
This continued support underscores the significant impact of community initiatives in addressing social needs and highlights the importance of sustained commitment to humanitarian efforts, ensuring that essential services remain available to those who rely on them most.
