Beautician Isabelle Cross Launches 24-Hour Challenge for Charity
A 21-year-old beautician, Isabelle Cross, is set to undertake a remarkable 24-hour beauty treatment challenge to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now. The event, which she has dubbed the “Beauty-A-Thon,” will take place on February 21 at her independent beauty studio, Studio.19, located at her home in Ixworth.
Isabelle, who founded her beauty studio at the age of 19, aims to bring her community together through this initiative. During the challenge, she will offer various beauty treatments at reduced prices, encouraging attendees to donate while receiving services. “I wanted to do something a little different that would really bring the community together,” she said, expressing her excitement and a touch of nervousness about the upcoming event.
The range of treatments available during the Beauty-A-Thon includes gel nails, BIAB nails, tinting and waxing, brow laminations, and LVL lash lifts. In addition to the beauty services, Isabelle plans to enhance fundraising through a raffle and the sale of cakes. So far, she has exceeded her initial fundraising goal, with her JustGiving page currently reporting a total of £785 raised.
Isabelle has made it easy for supporters to participate. Raffle tickets are available for £5 for a strip of five, and individuals can earn a free strip by sharing the raffle prizes on social media. Supporters are also encouraged to book treatments during the event to contribute to the cause.
Recognizing the financial pressures many families face, Isabelle highlighted the importance of online support. “Simply sharing the fundraiser online would be hugely appreciated,” she stated. The cause is particularly meaningful to her. “Breast Cancer Now is a charity very close to my heart due to personal experiences within my family and wider circle,” she explained, noting the significant impact breast cancer can have on lives.
Isabelle emphasized that while fundraising is a central goal of the challenge, raising awareness about breast cancer is equally important. “Getting everyone to check their breasts or moobs, as early detection can save a life, encouraging community involvement, and showcasing what small local businesses can achieve is just as important to me,” she said.
This charity effort has inspired Isabelle to consider future fundraising initiatives for Breast Cancer Now. Her journey into entrepreneurship began at the age of 18, and she successfully launched Studio.19 a year later. The name of her studio reflects her age when she started her business. Over the past two years, Isabelle has garnered recognition in the beauty industry, including second place for best nail newcomer and ranking just outside the top 100 for best home salon.
As the Beauty-A-Thon approaches, Isabelle Cross continues to receive support from clients, friends, and family, which she describes as overwhelming. “I’m incredibly proud of my clients, friends, and family for their support,” she said, looking forward to making a positive impact through her challenge.
