Four young Montenegrin boxers are set to compete in the European Junior Championships, taking place from December 8 to 18, 2023, in Kienbaum, Germany. This prestigious event will feature boxers from across the continent, and Montenegro will be represented by: Luka Otašević (under 48 kg), Nikola Raičević (under 50 kg), Strahinja Mrdak (under 52 kg), and Matija Roganović (under 80 kg).
Alongside the athletes, the Montenegrin delegation will include national coach Nikola Ružić and trainers Boško Drašković and Slavko Mrdak. The team has undergone rigorous preparations, including intensive training and sparring sessions, to ensure they are ready for the challenges ahead.
Coach Ružić expressed confidence in the team’s abilities, stating, “Our national team consists of talented young boxers who have worked hard to earn their place at this gathering of the best juniors in Europe. They travel to Germany in good shape and high spirits, determined to give their best and represent Montenegro honorably at one of the most significant competitions on the continent.”
The European Junior Championships provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and compete against some of the best in their age group. As anticipation builds, the Montenegrin boxers are committed to making a mark on this international stage.
