Caution Advised: Wet Roads and Increased Landslide Risk Ahead

Drivers in Montenegro are urged to exercise caution as wet road conditions and reduced visibility are reported across various regions. Heavy rainfall has led to localized flooding on some roadways, further complicating travel. Additionally, frequent landslides have been observed along mountain passes, prompting authorities to recommend careful driving tailored to current weather and traffic conditions.

Motorists should be particularly aware of the total traffic suspension in effect on the regional road R-10 between Đurđevica Tara and Mojkovac. In the area of Sokolovina, all vehicle movement has been halted due to landslides as part of ongoing stabilization efforts at a critical location.

On October 29, 2025, from 11:00 to 15:00, traffic will also be suspended on a section of the main road M-2, specifically between Slijepac Most and Ribarevine. Following this, from October 29 to November 3, 2025, the traffic regime on the regional road R-5, between Rožaje and Stubica (bordering Kosovo), will shift from two-way to alternating traffic from 07:00 to 17:00.

Further interruptions are scheduled on the main road M-2, where traffic will be completely halted for all vehicles from October 1 to October 31, 2025, during peak hours of 09:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 19:00. This is part of a broader initiative to improve infrastructure.

From now until November 1, 2025, traffic will be suspended on the regional road R-29, which connects Bar, Kamenicki Most, and Krute, between 08:00 and 11:00 as well as between 13:00 and 16:00 due to reconstruction works.

On the route from Petnjica to Bioča, traffic will also experience changes due to reconstruction efforts, allowing for alternating traffic flows at construction sites, while complete halts of up to 60 minutes may occur. Notably, these halts will not be implemented during weekdays between 07:00 and 09:00 and from 12:00 to 14:00.

As part of ongoing road improvements, total traffic suspension will take place from October 28 to November 1, 2025, on the M-6 road section between Pljevlja and Đurđevica Tara. This will occur from 08:00 to 17:00 as the area undergoes asphalt resurfacing.

Scheduled traffic disruptions will also affect the routes from Luka Bar to Sutomore, and further towards Podgorica, Nikšić, Jasenovo Polje, and the Gvozd Wind Farm. These interruptions will occur on the nights of October 27 and 28, 2025, from 21:00 to 07:00, to facilitate the transport of components needed for the wind farm.

From October 22 to November 22, 2025, the traffic regime on the M-1 road section between Bar and Ulcinj will switch to alternating traffic due to bridge repairs at Kruče. On the M-3 road between Plužine and Jasenovo Polje, vehicles will also experience alternating one-lane traffic controlled by light signals.

Further construction on the Vojislavljevica street in Podgorica has resulted in traffic being redirected to alternative routes since June 3, 2025. For ongoing slope stabilization at “Provalija” on the M-6 route from Žabljak to Šavnik, traffic will be subject to periodic changes to single-lane flow from 07:00 to 17:00 until further notice.

The Auto-Moto Savez Crne Gore (AMSCG) continues to remind drivers that technical assistance is available on public roads, including minor repairs and complimentary towing to the nearest service for registered vehicles. Their information center and roadside assistance are accessible 24 hours a day, with inquiries welcomed via phone at 19807, 020/234-999, or 063/239-987.

The intensity of traffic remains moderate to heavy, and in the past 24 hours, Montenegro has recorded 22 traffic accidents, resulting in one serious injury and four minor injuries. As conditions evolve, authorities emphasize the importance of vigilance and adherence to traffic regulations.
