Čađenović Advances to Semifinals, Secures Medal at World Championship
Montenegro’s kickboxer, Nemanja Čađenović, has advanced to the semifinals of the senior World Championship in Abu Dhabi, securing a medal in the process. Competing in the 71-kilogram category of the low kick discipline, Čađenović triumphed over Elnur Mustafajev from Azerbaijan with a score of 2:1 in the quarterfinal match. This achievement marks the third medal of his career at major competitions.
Čađenović’s path to the semifinals included a previous victory against Andreas Garcia from Guatemala. He will face Atanas Dimov from Bulgaria in the semifinals, which is scheduled for tomorrow.
In contrast, Montenegro’s other competitors did not advance past the quarterfinals. Lazar Klikovac, fighting in the K1 discipline at 86 kilograms, came close to reaching the semifinals. Leading against the current world champion, Berka Duzenlija, Klikovac unfortunately received a penalty point in the third round, which, combined with some contentious scoring decisions, led to a narrow defeat.
Meanwhile, Viktor Borozan, competing in the low kick category at 67 kilograms, also faced an early exit. After two impressive victories earlier in the tournament against Adil Omer from Iraq and Dastin Kronk from Canada, Borozan lost to Vedad Ćutuk from Bosnia and Herzegovina by a score of 3:0 in the quarterfinal.
As the tournament progresses, Čađenović’s performance stands out as a significant highlight for Montenegro, showcasing the country’s talent on the international kickboxing stage.
