Dharmendra Pradhan Honors Deendayal Upadhyaya on 109th Birthday

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) paid floral tributes to the party ideologue Deendayal Upadhyaya on his 109th birth anniversary, observed on September 25. The ceremony took place at Deendayal Upadhyay Park in New Delhi, where Pradhan emphasized Upadhyaya’s lasting impact on Indian politics and society.

Pradhan shared his reflections on social media platform X, expressing that Upadhyaya’s contributions would remain “unforgettable.” He articulated that Upadhyaya’s vision continues to inspire efforts to forge a “strong, prosperous, and self-reliant India.” Pradhan remarked, “On the birth anniversary of the revered Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji, who has been a guiding light for millions of workers like me, we paid floral tributes and bowed in reverence at his statue.”

The Union Minister highlighted Upadhyaya’s role in providing new directions to society through his progressive ideas, notably Integral Humanism and Antyodaya. He stated, “His belief was that the true upliftment of society is possible only when development and welfare reach the last person in society.” This sentiment underscores the core principles that continue to guide the BJP’s policy framework.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid homage to Upadhyaya, acknowledging his foundational role in establishing the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the predecessor of the BJP. Modi praised Upadhyaya’s ideas of nationalism and welfare, asserting that they present a pathway to prosperity and contribute to building a developed India. He referred to Upadhyaya as “a great son of India” and noted his significant contributions to the philosophy of integral humanism.

Born in Mathura, Upadhyaya was a key organizational figure within the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which laid the groundwork for the BJP. His legacy continues to be celebrated within the party, as leaders often reference his teachings and vision in their political discourse.
