Princess Beatrice Marks Special 37th Birthday with Family Celebrations
Princess Beatrice is poised to celebrate her 37th birthday on March 24, 2024, a milestone that holds special significance this year. Earlier in 2024, she and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, welcomed their second child, Athena Elizabeth Rose, who was born prematurely on January 22. Edoardo shared a touching moment on Instagram, posting the first photo of their “tiny and absolutely perfect” daughter.
Athena joins the couple’s eldest daughter, Sienna, born in September 2021. Edoardo also has a nine-year-old son, Wolfie, from a previous relationship with Dara Huang. This birthday marks Beatrice’s first as a mother of two, coinciding with Athena’s recent public debut. The family attended the Lionesses’ victory parade following their win at the Euro 2025, where baby Athena was spotted in a baby carrier worn by her father.
The couple has opted to maintain the privacy of their daughters, refraining from sharing images that reveal their faces. This decision reflects their commitment to shielding their children from public scrutiny while still engaging with royal traditions.
Emotional Reflections on Motherhood
Beatrice’s journey into motherhood has not been without its challenges. Athena’s early arrival prompted the Princess to pen a heartfelt essay for British Vogue, where she discussed the anxiety surrounding her pregnancy. She described enduring “months of sheer worry” and expressed her emotional relief when Athena finally arrived, stating, “Nothing quite prepares you for the moment when you realise your baby is going to arrive early. There’s so little control.”
The Princess elaborated on her feelings, saying, “The uncertainty leaves you with an overwhelming fear of the unknown.” Her candid reflections resonate with many parents who have faced similar experiences, highlighting the emotional complexities of pregnancy and childbirth.
A Close Family Bond
Beatrice shares a special bond with her sister, Princess Eugenie, who also became a mother around the same time. Their children, Sienna and Eugenie’s son August Brooksbank, were born just seven months apart, allowing the sisters to navigate motherhood together. Eugenie, who frequently shares personal moments on her public Instagram account, has spoken about their relationship, calling it a “mothering club” where they exchange parenting tips regularly.
In an interview with HELLO!, Eugenie described her connection with Beatrice, saying, “Bea’s my big sister, I talk to her about everything.” This familial support underscores the importance of shared experiences in parenting and the bonds that strengthen family ties.
As Princess Beatrice celebrates her birthday, the joy of family life and the challenges of motherhood are at the forefront of her thoughts. With the support of her husband and her close-knit family, this birthday is sure to be memorable for the royal and her loved ones.
