The Ministry of Health of Montenegro has confirmed the ongoing and stable supply of medicines and medical materials for public health institutions and pharmacies. During a government meeting on October 15, 2025, officials approved a procurement process to acquire necessary medical supplies.

The total budget allocated for this procurement is set at €30,666,850.31. This funding aims to ensure the availability of essential medications and medical materials throughout the remainder of 2025. According to the Ministry, the procurement process will be managed by the Public Health Institution Montefarm, in collaboration with the Health Insurance Fund of Montenegro and the Ministry of Health, following current regulations and government decisions.

Government Commitment to Healthcare Supply Chain

The Ministry of Health emphasized that the supply of medicines and medical materials remains uninterrupted and is not in question. All activities related to procurement are being carried out in a planned and coordinated manner. This approach ensures that citizens have access to all necessary therapies and health services. The statement from the Ministry reassured the public that “Montefarm is continuing the procurement and delivery of medications to its pharmacies and public health institutions without disruption.”

Officials from Montefarm indicated that there are no anticipated delays in supply until the end of the current year. The government and the Ministry of Health are committed to taking all necessary measures to keep health institutions in Montenegro adequately supplied. This commitment aims to ensure that citizens have reliable access to the therapies and medical resources they need.

In summary, the government’s proactive steps reflect its dedication to maintaining a steady supply of vital medical supplies, thereby safeguarding the health and well-being of its citizens. The procurement process exemplifies a coordinated effort among various health authorities to uphold service continuity, especially in a challenging healthcare environment.
