Montenegrin Prosecutors Investigate Explicit Video Claims
The Basic State Prosecutor’s Office (ODT) in Podgorica has initiated an investigation into explicit videos allegedly featuring former official Mirjana Pajkovic. Dejan Vuksic, a former security advisor to the President of Montenegro, has denied being the individual depicted in the controversial footage. The inquiry comes amid serious accusations involving unauthorized distribution and claims of security threats.
According to reports from the daily publication Vijesti, Pajkovic has asserted that Vuksic appears in one of the videos and has accused him of distributing the material without consent. Vuksic has firmly rejected these allegations, claiming he is not in the footage and has no involvement in its distribution.
Legal Proceedings Underway
Both Pajkovic and Vuksic were summoned for questioning at the ODT in Podgorica on the previous day. The investigation encompasses multiple complaints filed by the two individuals, focusing on issues such as misuse of personal recordings, threats to safety, and theft of mobile devices.
A source familiar with the proceedings noted, “Both parties have been questioned regarding all cases initiated based on the complaints made by Pajkovic and Vuksic at the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica. They provided statements at different times and in various capacities.” Pajkovic has explicitly claimed that Vuksic is present in the disputed video and that he unlawfully disseminated it, which Vuksic has categorically denied.
The ongoing investigation has highlighted tensions between the former security advisor and Pajkovic, who previously held a senior position within the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights. The allegations have not only raised questions about the individuals involved but also about the broader implications for privacy and security in Montenegro.
Additional Allegations Surface
Further complicating the matter are allegations made by Vuksic, who claims that Pajkovic previously stole his mobile phone. He accuses her of attempting to extort him and pressuring him to withdraw his candidacy for a position on the Constitutional Court. These claims have not been detailed in Pajkovic’s public statements, and it remains unclear how she responded to these accusations.
The investigation by the ODT represents a significant legal challenge for both parties involved. As the case unfolds, it underscores the complexities surrounding personal privacy rights and the potential legal ramifications of unauthorized video distribution in Montenegro.
The outcome of this inquiry may have far-reaching implications, not only for the individuals involved but also for public trust in governmental institutions and the protection of personal rights.
