Early Morning Cleaning Routine: Mum’s Unique Approach to Housework
Mimz, a busy mother and influencer, has gained attention for her unconventional cleaning routine that begins at 02:00. With over five hours before her workday starts, she dedicates this time to ensure her home is spotless before her son wakes up. Her TikTok account, @everydaywithmimz, has attracted a following of 24,000 users who are intrigued by her early-morning rituals.
In a recent video, she shared that she has started a new job requiring her to work in the office three days a week. To manage her responsibilities effectively, she prioritizes cleaning and meal preparation during the early hours. Mimz balances her cleaning tasks with a skincare routine, including using a light therapy mask while she tidies her home.
“It does feel crazy doing this in the middle of the night, but by the time my son wakes up and I start getting ready at five, it’s absolutely fine,” Mimz explained. Her day begins with dropping her son off at breakfast club before heading to work at 09:00. This structured routine helps her avoid feeling overwhelmed when returning home after a long day.
Mimz focuses her efforts primarily on the kitchen and living room. She engages in thorough cleaning activities, including scrubbing kitchen counters, deep cleaning oven trays, washing laundry, and wiping down surfaces. She also prepares dinner in advance, allowing her to quickly finish cooking when she returns home. “This way I can just come home and put the water in the soup, and then I can just boil it, and it’s done,” she noted.
The emphasis on maintaining a tidy home resonates with other parents as well. Cara, another “mumfluencer,” recently expressed her frustrations about parents who use their children as excuses for unclean living spaces. In a TikTok video, she criticized the trend of showcasing messy homes online, stating, “Stop using your children as an excuse to have a dirty home. I mean, messy, yes, but dirty is just unacceptable.”
Cara, a mother of five, acknowledged the challenges of keeping a clean home with children but emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene. She described her dismay at seeing homes with severe cleanliness issues, recounting, “Yes, there is actually an account on here and I’ve seen it with my own eyes and it’s actually disgusting.” While she did not name the specific account, her comments reflect a growing sentiment among parents who strive to balance family life with household cleanliness.
The contrasting cleaning approaches of Mimz and Cara highlight a broader conversation about parenting and domestic responsibilities in the modern world. As the social media landscape continues to evolve, these discussions may encourage more parents to adopt routines that suit their lifestyles while promoting a healthier living environment for their families.
