Padma Lakshmi and Daughter Krishna Shine on NYC Stroll

On July 14, 2025, television personality Padma Lakshmi and her daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell, captured attention as they walked through the vibrant streets of New York City. The duo showcased their close bond while strolling with their rescue chihuahua, Divina, making their outing a delightful spectacle for onlookers.
During this casual outing, Padma sported a chic brown midi dress paired with open-toe heels and stylish black sunglasses. Her daughter, now 14, demonstrated her growing fashion sense in a black leather vest and low-rise jeans. Remarkably, Krishna has recently matched her mother’s height of 5 feet 9 inches, a detail that has not gone unnoticed by fans and followers.
A Blossoming Young Adult
Krishna, who shares a close relationship with her mother and her father, venture capitalist Adam Dell, has become a frequent presence on Padma’s social media platforms. The two often share moments from their cooking adventures to glamorous trips, showcasing their dynamic lifestyle. Padma affectionately refers to Krishna as “Littlehands” in her posts, highlighting their playful connection.
In a candid interview in 2021, Padma revealed her initial struggle to balance sharing Krishna’s life with protecting her privacy. Initially, she used emojis to obscure Krishna’s face in photos on Instagram, but later allowed her to appear on her Hulu docuseries, Taste the Nation. “I want her to choose when she is old enough about whether she wants to be exposed in that way,” Padma told People magazine, emphasizing her desire for authenticity in their family representation.
Last year, Krishna began high school after attending the United Nations International School (UNIS) for her middle school years. Padma expressed pride in her daughter’s accomplishments, particularly during Krishna’s graduation from the eighth grade. “I’m so proud of Krishna and all she has achieved in her young, happy life,” she shared on Instagram.
Cooking and Creativity
Despite their close bond, Krishna has humorously described her mother as “overbearing” in the kitchen. “She prefers to cook with her father,” Padma admitted, highlighting the typical teenage dynamic. “I want her to go to college with like a dozen recipes — simple things that make her self-sufficient,” she added, underscoring her hopes for Krishna’s culinary skills.
Krishna has not only been a part of her mother’s cooking endeavors but also contributed to Padma’s cookbook, titled Padma’s All American, which was released last year. In it, Krishna has her own recipe, showcasing her growth over the years. “You can also see in the photos how she’s grown just in the years it took me to put this book together,” Padma remarked, reflecting on their journey together.
The bond between Padma Lakshmi and Krishna continues to flourish, as they navigate the complexities of public life and personal growth while maintaining a strong family connection. As they both step confidently into new chapters of their lives, they remain a source of inspiration for many.
