Matt Forde to Spotlight Politics and Health in Upcoming Tour

Political satirist Matt Forde is set to bring his latest tour, Defying Calamity, to the Savoy Theatre in Monmouth on April 17, 2024. Forde, renowned for his impersonations of prominent figures including Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, and Keir Starmer, will explore the intersection of politics and personal challenges, particularly following his recent surgery to remove a spinal tumour.

Forde’s performances are known for their sharp political commentary and humor. One review highlighted his ability to deliver “laugh-a-minute stuff,” complemented by the kind of wisdom and resilience that political leaders should emulate. His reputation as a leading voice in political satire has been acknowledged by various media outlets, with The Guardian calling him “a first-class comic” and The Sunday Times referring to him as the “foremost satirical stand-up.”

In addition to his work on Spitting Image, Forde has made a name for himself through his radio broadcasts and comedy shows. He has collaborated with notable comedians like Russell Howard and Jon Richardson on BBC Radio 6, and has produced six seasons of his topical political show, Unspun with Matt Forde, on the channel Dave.
