ITV Teases Exciting Return of I’m A Celebrity South Africa
ITV has announced the much-anticipated return of I’m A Celebrity South Africa with a sneak peek of the upcoming series set to air this spring. This new installment will feature a lineup of former contestants vying for the coveted all-star crown, bringing back familiar faces to the South African wilderness.
During the season premiere of Britain’s Got Talent on March 16, 2024, viewers were treated to a brief ten-second teaser that showcased presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly at a campfire. The clip captured a moment of suspense when Ant was startled by an unexpected noise, prompting him to ask, “What was that?” Dec humorously identified it as a “big cat,” resulting in an animated reaction from Ant, who exclaimed, “A big cat? No way!”
The excitement continues as ITV plans to release another teaser during next week’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent. In this upcoming footage, an exhausted Ant is seen yawning and stretching before wishing Dec a “goodnight.” The playful banter continues as Dec warns him about potential dangers in the bush, cautioning against “bed bugs, ticks, and mozzies, and scorpions, and sand-eyed spiders.” Ant’s nervous reaction adds to the lighthearted nature of the teaser.
The inaugural series of I’m A Celebrity South Africa, which aired in 2023, garnered significant viewership, attracting over five million viewers throughout its run. As anticipation builds for the new series, speculation has intensified regarding which celebrities will join the competition. Reports indicate that reality television star Gemma Collins is among those confirmed to return. Gemma previously left the Australian camp after only 72 hours, stating in 2015, “I’d be like Lara Croft and Angelina Jolie rolled into one, and I’d do the tasks. I’m not scared of nothing.”
Another potential returnee, Scarlett Moffatt, expressed her enthusiasm for the show in an interview with OK! Magazine. She reflected on her previous experience, saying, “If I was to go back, I would just soak up every second again because I had such an amazing time.” Scarlett acknowledged her growth since her last appearance, noting, “I really feel like if I got the opportunity to do it again, I know myself more.”
Additional names being considered for the new series include former boxer David Haye, Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah, actor Craig Charles, comedian Seann Walsh, Emmerdale‘s Adam Thomas, singer Sinitta, Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts, ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard, and Beverley Callard from Coronation Street.
As excitement mounts for the return of I’m A Celebrity South Africa, ITV continues to build anticipation through engaging teasers and celebrity speculation, promising an entertaining season ahead.
