As autumn settles in, residents of Cambridgeshire are eagerly preparing for Halloween festivities. A key tradition during this season is visiting pumpkin patches, where families can select the ideal pumpkins for carving and decorating. Skylark Garden Centre in Wimblington is set to host a “Week of Wickedness” from October 18 to 31, featuring activities such as pumpkin picking, tractor rides, and pig racing. Guests can also enjoy a daily magic show and navigate a maize maze, including a mini version for younger children. Admission tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £17 for children aged three to 14, while pumpkins start at £3. After selecting their pumpkins, visitors can carve them on-site to avoid mess at home.
Located on Benwick Rd, Huntingdon, Freshfields Farm welcomes guests with free entry and an array of photo opportunities throughout the fields. The venue will feature a coffee van and Toms Cakes for refreshments. Pumpkin picking will occur every weekend from October 4 and daily from October 24 until Halloween. As a reminder, the site operates on a cash-only basis for purchases.
At the Milton Maze Pumpkin Patch in Milton, attendees can choose from over 60,000 pumpkins, including distinctive white, stripy, and pink varieties. Families can also enjoy the Field of Fun, which includes a wooden maze, go-karts, crazy golf, and a zip wire. Entry costs £9.95 for both adults and children, with pumpkins priced between 75p and £10. The patch will be open every weekend from October 4 and daily from October 25 until Halloween.
The Cuckoo Bridge Nursery and Farm Shop located in Somersham offers a variety of activities for children, including a straw maze, bouncy castle, and mini tractors. Additional attractions, such as tractor barrel train rides and face painting, may incur extra costs. Entry tickets are available for £4 for all ages, with pumpkins priced between £1 and £10. The pumpkin patch will be open daily starting October 4 until Halloween.
Lastly, Worzals Garden Centre in Wisbech promises an exciting adventure with its Rusty’s Great Pumpkin Patch. Visitors can explore themed areas like Jurassic Hollow, featuring “roaring dinosaurs” and iconic movie props. The quirky Wild West town offers rustic charm and plentiful photo opportunities. The pumpkin patch will open on select days throughout October, starting October 4. Admission costs £9.95 for both adults and children, which includes a free pumpkin, or £13.95 for children, which also grants access to the garden centre’s play area.
