Christmas at Wimpole: Enchanting Light Trail Returns for 2025
A beloved holiday attraction is set to illuminate the winter landscape of Cambridgeshire as the Christmas at Wimpole light trail returns for its fifth consecutive year. From November 21, 2025, to January 3, 2026, visitors can experience a dazzling display at the stunning Wimpole Estate, organized by Culture Creative and delivered in partnership with Sony Music and the National Trust.
This year’s event promises to be a magical experience for families and visitors of all ages. The trail will feature a collection of new installations, including a spectacular Christmas Cathedral and a breathtaking Sea of Light, alongside cherished displays from previous years. Guests will embark on an immersive journey through Wimpole’s historic parkland, enhanced by a soundtrack of festive classics that captures the spirit of the season.
As attendees stroll along the illuminated pathway, they will encounter vibrant installations, such as a color-changing neon tree, whimsical rocking robins, and a rainbow-lit path. Among the highlights is a captivating long tunnel adorned with twinkling lights, providing numerous photo opportunities for those looking to capture the festive magic. Additionally, families can look forward to a special visit from Father Christmas, who will be making appearances along the trail.
Food and drink play an essential role in the festive experience. Visitors can indulge in a selection of seasonal treats offered by hand-picked street food vendors. From spiced winter beverages to creamy hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows, there will be plenty of options to enjoy while taking in the enchanting surroundings.
The light trail is produced by Culture Creative, a well-respected name in the industry known for its innovative light displays. Over the years, Christmas at Wimpole has become a staple in the UK’s festive calendar, drawing visitors from near and far. The event is organized in collaboration with Raymond Gubbay Ltd, a division of Sony Music, which specializes in creating memorable entertainment experiences.
In keeping with environmental commitments, the event utilizes generators powered by renewable HVO biofuel and has transitioned to 100% LED lighting for the atmospheric displays. These efforts reflect a dedication to sustainability while providing a spectacular visual experience.
Wimpole Estate itself boasts an impressive history, dating back approximately 2,000 years. The expansive grounds cover over 600 acres and include a grand mansion, gardens, and a working farm, making it an ideal setting for a holiday light trail.
