Ferrari Launches 631-HP Amalfi Spider with Innovative Features
Ferrari has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Amalfi Spider, a convertible version of the popular Amalfi coupe. This new model boasts a powerful 3.9-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that produces an impressive 631 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque, propelling the vehicle from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds. The Amalfi Spider is set to be released in 2027, marking a significant addition to Ferrari’s lineup of grand tourers.
The Amalfi Spider maintains the sleek and muscular design of its coupe counterpart while introducing a number of innovative features. One standout element is its five-layer acoustic fabric roof, engineered to replicate the thermal and sound-dampening qualities of a hardtop. This advanced roof stows away in a mere 13.5 seconds and can be operated at speeds up to 37 mph. When folded, the top measures only 8.7 inches thick, maximizing luggage capacity and ensuring a streamlined appearance.
Inside the cabin, Ferrari has opted for a return to physical steering wheel buttons, moving away from haptic touch controls. This change brings back a more tactile driving experience, complemented by an aluminum push-to-start mechanism. The redesigned dashboard features a lower-mounted infotainment screen, allowing drivers to maintain focus on the road ahead. Additionally, an aggressive active rear wing enhances the vehicle’s performance, ensuring optimal aerodynamics during both open-air driving and high-speed excursions.
Comfort during open-air driving is prioritized with the inclusion of an integrated wind deflector that deploys from the rear seats at the push of a button. This design decision reflects Ferrari’s commitment to delivering an enjoyable driving experience regardless of the weather conditions. The new exterior color, Rosso Tramonto, pays homage to the vibrant hues of a setting sun, adding a striking visual element to the vehicle’s aesthetics.
The introduction of the Amalfi Spider represents Ferrari’s continuous evolution in the luxury sports car market. With its blend of performance, innovative design, and luxurious features, the Amalfi Spider is poised to attract enthusiasts and collectors alike. As the brand prepares for the official launch, anticipation builds for a vehicle that embodies the spirit of open-air driving while maintaining Ferrari’s legacy of excellence.
