Terzić Urges City Administration to Honor Employee Winter Aid
The President of the Youth Council of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in Montenegro, Filip Terzić, has called on the City Administration of Podgorica, led by Saša Mujović, to fulfill its promise of providing winter aid to employees. This appeal follows the announcement that the administration will carry over €38 million from the current budget into the next fiscal year.
In a post on the social media platform X, Terzić emphasized the urgent need for the city to support its workforce. “It is time to respect the promise made and pay the winter aid to employees, who are currently facing record prices for food, rent, utilities, and parking,” he stated. He also highlighted the impending increase in waste management services, stressing that the financial resources are available, though the political will seems to be lacking.
Terzić’s remarks highlight a broader concern among the citizens of Podgorica who are grappling with rising living costs. The winter aid, which is intended to alleviate some of the financial burden on employees, has become a focal point of discussion in local governance.
The City Administration’s decision to carry over such a substantial amount from the budget underlines the potential for funding this aid. The administration’s ability to manage its finances effectively is under scrutiny, particularly in light of the current economic challenges faced by residents.
As the city approaches the new fiscal year, the pressure is mounting on Mujović and his team to prioritize the welfare of employees and deliver on commitments made to them. Terzić’s call to action resonates not only with city workers but also with the wider community, emphasizing the necessity for accountability in local governance.
