Dacke Industri Acquires 70% of Hydronit S.r.l. to Boost Hydraulics
Dacke Industri, a Swedish industrial group, has acquired a 70 percent stake in Hydronit S.r.l., an Italian company specializing in modular hydraulic power units. This acquisition, finalized on November 18, 2025, enhances Dacke’s presence in Europe and expands its portfolio in fluid power solutions. The remaining 30 percent of Hydronit will continue to be held by its current owner.
Located in Varedo, approximately 20 kilometers north of Milan, Hydronit develops and manufactures modular hydraulic power units for mobile, industrial, and marine applications. The company is known for its patented Smart Power Units, which incorporate programmable logic controllers, sensors, and Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities. These innovations bring digital control and connectivity to compact hydraulic systems.
Hydronit’s acquisition is seen as a vital strategic move for Dacke Industri in its quest for growth across Europe. The integration of Hydronit’s products into Dacke’s Fluid Power Technology division is expected to enhance the group’s existing capabilities in hydraulic and motion solutions.
Andrea Gambusera, CEO and co-owner of Hydronit, expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating, “Being part of a focused multinational group meets our expectations to grow as a major player in compact and smart hydraulics worldwide.” This sentiment reflects Hydronit’s ambition to leverage Dacke’s resources and expertise to enhance its market position.
The merger is anticipated to create synergies between Hydronit’s modular hydraulic power units and Dacke’s current offerings. Mikael Lundgren, President of Fluid Power Technology at Dacke, highlighted the potential for collaboration within the division, aiming to provide greater value to customers. He noted that Hydronit’s strategic locations in Italy, China, the UK, and the US will help bring its products closer to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in key markets.
Dacke Industri operates with a long-term investment approach, focusing on innovative technology firms in niche markets. The company prioritizes businesses that possess strong technical capabilities and a commitment to sustainability. With around 30 subsidiaries and approximately 1,800 employees globally, Dacke recorded net sales of about SEK 4.8 billion.
The acquisition of Hydronit S.r.l. aligns with Dacke’s history of targeted investments in specialized technology companies across Europe. Previous strategic moves include acquiring Blink’s CANbus keypads in Italy and UVA LIDKÖPING’s CNC grinding support in the United States. The incorporation of Hydronit’s modular and smart hydraulic power units further strengthens Dacke’s position in the fluid power market, offering customers a reliable supplier with the backing of a larger, resource-rich industrial owner.
As Dacke Industri continues to expand its operational footprint, the acquisition of Hydronit S.r.l. positions the company for future growth in the evolving landscape of hydraulic technologies.
