Three varieties of **Milka** chocolate have been recalled in **Serbia** due to incorrectly labeled allergens, raising concerns about consumer safety. The affected products include **Milka hazelnut** (90 g), **Milka oreo brownie** (100 g), and **Milka whole nut** (95 g). According to the **Food Safety Agency** (FSA) of the United Kingdom, these chocolates did not clearly indicate potential allergens, posing a significant health risk to individuals allergic to milk, hazelnuts, soy, wheat, or gluten.

In contrast, officials in **Montenegro** confirm that there have been no reported issues related to these chocolates. **Vladimir Đaković**, director of the Directorate for Food Safety, Veterinary, and Phytosanitary Affairs, stated that no unmarked or dangerous batches of these **Milka** chocolates are present in the Montenegrin market.

“Our information indicates that the mentioned products are not available in our market,” Đaković said. He emphasized that while the chocolates are not unsafe in terms of their composition, the lack of proper allergen labeling could mislead consumers.

“This can lead to consumer deception, and any product that poses a potential risk to consumers is considered unsafe,” Đaković added. He explained that the allergens in question, such as gluten, lactose, eggs, or nuts, are common ingredients in everyday diets. Although these substances are not hazardous on their own, they can pose risks for consumers with specific dietary needs.

In Montenegro, regulations mandate clear labeling of allergens to inform consumers effectively. Đaković noted, “Legal requirements state that allergens must be clearly and unequivocally listed. This allows consumers to make informed decisions, which is particularly crucial for those with allergies.”

The Directorate continuously monitors the market and has not identified any irregularities with the **Milka** products in question. They have committed to keeping a close watch on the situation and will promptly inform the public of any changes.

With the increasing emphasis on food safety, consumers are encouraged to remain vigilant about product labeling, especially when it comes to allergens. As the situation unfolds, the public will be informed to ensure the safety and health of all consumers across the region.
