Passengers Enjoy Free Extra Legroom on Major Airlines
Passengers flying with major airlines such as Ryanair, easyJet, and British Airways can now benefit from free extra legroom by following a simple tip. Research conducted by the website AeroLopa reveals that seating preferences on certain aircraft can lead to increased comfort without the additional cost typically associated with extra legroom.
Free Legroom on Ryanair, easyJet, and British Airways Flights
The findings indicate that selecting specific seats on these airlines’ aircraft can enhance legroom. For instance, on Ryanair’s Boeing 737-800, passengers in seats D, E, and F in rows 3 to 15 enjoy a seat pitch of 29.5 inches, giving them 0.5 inches more space than seats on the left side of the same rows. Ryanair’s website lists these seats at a cost starting from £4.50, a significantly lower price compared to the typical charge of £12 for dedicated extra legroom seats. A spokesperson from Ryanair stated, “Your average seat pitch is 29 inches, which is one inch more than the industry standard of 28 inches.”
On the other hand, easyJet primarily utilizes Airbus aircraft, specifically the A320-214. Passengers seated on the right-hand side in rows 14 to 29 can enjoy an additional 0.5 inches of legroom. Standard seats are available starting at £0.99, while extra legroom seats begin at £7.99. An easyJet representative elaborated, “EasyJet’s fleet includes a range of aircraft with between 156 and 235 seats, and the majority of our aircraft have a minimum seat pitch of 29 inches.”
More Options with British Airways
British Airways operates a mix of Airbus and Boeing aircraft. On long-haul flights aboard the Boeing 787-8, seats in rows 22 to 24 and rows 31 to 34 offer a generous 32.4 inches of legroom, compared to the standard 31 inches found in most other seats. Interestingly, seats in rows 23 to 25 in the ABC section have the least amount of space, providing only 30.5 inches.
For shorter flights, British Airways’ A320 and A320neo aircraft present a different scenario; row 30 comes with just 28 inches of space, which is less than other standard seating options. Those traveling on the A321 type 21V can maximize their legroom in rows 15 to 22, where they will find 30.1 inches, surpassing the usual standard by 1.1 inches.
These insights offer a valuable opportunity for passengers looking to enhance their travel experience without incurring extra costs. By selecting their seats wisely, travelers can gain essential comfort during their journeys across Europe’s bustling routes.
