Construction Begins on Main Street in Spuž Following Budget Approval
Construction has commenced on the main street in Spuž, a project that is being hailed as one of the most significant developments for the area in recent decades. The announcement was made by Duško Stjepović, a member of the Democratic Party, who emphasized the importance of this initiative for the local community.
According to Stjepović, the project is set to be completed within 60 calendar days from the start date, marking a swift turnaround for a long-awaited upgrade. The total investment for the project amounts to €430,634.26, inclusive of value-added tax (VAT). Funding for this vital endeavor was secured through an amendment to the Montenegro budget for 2025, which Stjepović proposed.
Significance of the Project
Stjepović, who also serves as a council member in the Danilovgrad parliament, expressed his satisfaction with securing the necessary funds for the street’s adaptation. He stated, “There are multiple reasons for my actions, but the main one is that Spuž has seen little to no investment for decades. This is a way to restore Spuž after years of neglect.”
He highlighted that this initiative is part of a broader effort by local representatives to enhance the community’s infrastructure and appearance. Stjepović noted that the current local government has managed to accomplish more in half a term than the previous administration did over four terms, citing specific projects like the long-promised Martinica Road.
Community Impact
The adaptation of the main street is expected to significantly improve access and aesthetics in Spuž, a town that has long awaited such developments. Stjepović emphasized that the project is a step toward addressing the historical lack of investment in the area and aims to provide residents with the infrastructure they deserve.
This initiative reflects a growing commitment among local leaders to enhance the quality of life for citizens in Spuž and surrounding regions. As construction progresses, the community will be closely watching the developments, hoping this project marks the beginning of a new era of growth and revitalization.
