Five individuals experienced a fortunate escape when a Skoda car collided with the Caprinos pizza takeaway shop in Gloucester on September 16, 2023. Both the driver and passenger of the Skoda are reported to have sustained no serious injuries. Three men who were inside the pizza shop at the time of the crash also escaped without significant harm.

According to a spokesperson for the Gloucestershire Police, “Police were called to a report that a Skoda had collided with a property at around 14:10 today.” The spokesperson confirmed that, thankfully, “the driver and the passenger of the car are not believed to have suffered any serious injuries,” and that “three men in the property at the time of the collision are also not believed to be seriously injured.”

Emergency services, including the Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, were dispatched shortly after the incident. The service reported receiving calls at 14:22 regarding a single vehicle collision. Two fire engines from Gloucester North and Gloucester South were deployed to the scene, where they assisted police and ambulance crews.

The road remained closed for nearly four hours as authorities worked to clear the area and ensure safety. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes during this period. The road was reopened to traffic around 18:00.

A representative from the fire service stated, “We provided assistance at the scene. The stop time was 14:49.” Their prompt response contributed to the effective management of the situation, minimizing potential injuries and hazards.
