Samsung has officially unveiled its latest smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S26 series, during its annual Unpacked event held in San Francisco on February 25, 2024. This new range includes the standard Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Pre-orders are now open, with devices set to be available in the UK starting March 11, 2024, at prices of £879, £1,099, and £1,279 respectively for outright purchases.

For customers looking to spread the cost, Sky Mobile is among the first networks to announce significant pre-order bonuses. Monthly plans for the S26 begin at £30, rising to £38 for the S26+ and £44 for the S26 Ultra. Buyers who pre-order by the March 10 deadline will receive a complimentary Galaxy Watch8 worth £319 with the S26 and S26+, while the S26 Ultra includes a more premium Galaxy Watch8 Classic valued at £449.

In addition to these smartwatches, customers will benefit from double storage at no extra cost, allowing them to purchase a 512GB model for the price of a 256GB one. However, potential buyers should note that Sky’s contracts include a modest 100MB data allowance, prompting many to consider larger plans to avoid data shortages. Sky has also indicated that its prices may fluctuate over the minimum 36-month contract term, according to Birmingham Live.

Competitive Pre-Order Offers Across Retailers

Other retailers are also offering compelling pre-order deals. For example, at Mobiles.co.uk, a plan priced at £34.99 per month plus a £9 upfront fee secures the standard S26 with 100GB of data. Meanwhile, Three offers unlimited data for £35.89 per month with a £40 upfront cost for the S26. The S26 Ultra is available for £46.89 per month plus £50 upfront.

’s pricing is slightly higher than that of EE, which charges £47 per month plus a £30 upfront fee for the S26 with a 125GB data allowance. This plan includes access to EE’s enhanced 5G+ network in select areas. Customers preferring to purchase outright will find consistent pricing across platforms such as Samsung.com and Amazon.

The Galaxy S26 series is available in four striking colors: Cobalt Violet, Black, White, and Sky Blue. Notable features include an AMOLED display, the Exynos 2600 processor, faster wireless charging, and advanced AI capabilities. The S26 Ultra boasts the most powerful processor to date in a Galaxy phone, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and has a sleek 7.9mm frame, making it the thinnest Ultra model yet.

Innovative Features and Performance Enhancements

The S26 Ultra is designed for demanding users, offering ultra-smooth performance alongside state-of-the-art AI technology and an impressive 200MP camera. David Snelling, Technology Editor at The Mirror, attended the Unpacked event and highlighted a standout feature: the Privacy Display. This innovation prevents onlookers from viewing the screen content, activating a mode that obscures information from anyone not directly facing the device.

Snelling noted, “The S26 Ultra is not only thinner and faster than before, but it now comes with a Privacy Display, which stops prying eyes from seeing what’s on the screen.” He added that the device’s rapid charging capabilities are impressive, enabling users to charge the battery from flat to 75% in just 30 minutes.

While the design of the Galaxy S26 Ultra remains similar to its predecessor, with only minor tweaks to the camera bump, Samsung has significantly enhanced its smart features through a Galaxy AI upgrade. This includes the “Now Nudge” feature, which provides contextually relevant suggestions to maintain user focus. For instance, when a friend requests photos from a recent trip, the Galaxy S26 will automatically suggest pertinent images from the Gallery.

The latest Galaxy S26 series is now available for pre-order through Sky Mobile, Mobiles.co.uk, Three, EE, Samsung.com, and Amazon. With a blend of cutting-edge technology and attractive pre-order incentives, Samsung aims to capture the attention of consumers eager for the latest in smartphone innovation.
