EastEnders Unveils Zoe Slater’s Daughter in Shocking Twist
The long-awaited identity of Zoe Slater’s daughter has been revealed in a dramatic twist on the popular British soap opera, *EastEnders*. In the episode that aired on December 15, fans discovered that Jasmine Fisher, played by Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness, is the daughter of Zoe, portrayed by Michelle Ryan. This revelation follows a series of flashbacks that depicted Zoe giving birth to twins in 2006, after which she placed her son up for adoption and fled the hospital, leaving the fate of her critically ill daughter uncertain.
Zoe had initially deceived her friend Sharon Watts, played by Letitia Dean, claiming that her ex-husband, Dennis Rickman, was the father of her child. This was an attempt to persuade Sharon into hiring a private investigator to find her son. However, the ruse was uncovered, leading to the investigator being dismissed and the search for Zoe’s children becoming overshadowed by a new threat. Zoe has endured harassment from a mysterious tormentor, prompting her to seek assistance from her ex-partner, Anthony Trueman, played by Nicholas Bailey. Unbeknownst to Zoe, Anthony harbors a troubling obsession with her, evidenced by his peculiar interest in saved photographs on his laptop.
In a pivotal scene at Walford General, Anthony met with a job applicant who provided him with hospital records pertaining to Zoe. Upon reviewing the documents, he made a startling calculation regarding the birth dates of Zoe’s children, leading him to conclude that he might be the father of Jasmine. The records confirmed that Zoe’s baby girl had been resuscitated and subsequently placed for adoption.
Meanwhile, Jasmine found herself at a police station, where authorities were perplexed by her parentage. Upon explaining that she was adopted and had moved to East London in search of her birth mother, the connection between her and Zoe became evident.
Following the dramatic revelations, reactions from fans have been mixed. One viewer remarked on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, “I think we all could’ve guessed it. Will be interesting to see how it plays out at Christmas.” Another expressed disappointment, stating, “Jasmine being exactly who we all said she was as soon as she joined us so chuffing underwhelming.”
The storyline raises important questions about the dynamics between Zoe and Anthony, particularly regarding his potential role as a father. With a restraining order already in place against him, fans are left wondering how their relationship will develop.
As audiences eagerly await the next episodes, they are left to ponder the implications of Zoe’s newfound knowledge and the whereabouts of her son. *EastEnders* continues to air from Monday to Thursday at 19:30 on BBC One, with episodes available for streaming on BBC iPlayer from 06:00.
