Contestant Jessie Reveals Ghostly Feelings After Traitors Elimination
In the latest episode of the BBC One show, The Traitors, contestant Jessie expressed her feelings of isolation after being eliminated, describing her experience in the castle as feeling like a “ghost.” The hairstylist, aged 28, was murdered during the episode that aired on March 15, 2024, while fellow contestant Ellie, aged 33, was banished.
Jessie appeared on the spin-off show The Traitors: Uncloaked where she shared her thoughts on the competition. She revealed that she had suspected Stephen was a traitor, and was pleased to have her suspicions validated. However, after the banishment of Ross, who had supported her claims in earlier episodes, Jessie felt increasingly alone in her observations.
“I am pleased because I had Ross back it up and then he left,” Jessie said. “I was hoping people might hop on board but no-one did really.” With a smile, she added, “I was a massive ghost in that castle. I was irrelevant, but I guess that’s just what it is.”
Ellie, another contestant with a background in psychology, also reflected on her time in the competition. When asked by host Ed Gamble if her professional expertise had assisted her gameplay, she responded, “I’ve got a research background so I was trying to think of all the theories that would apply, biases that you might have.”
She elaborated on the concept of confirmation bias, noting how it influenced her perceptions of fellow contestant Sam. “As soon as you decide that someone’s a traitor, you then just find evidence to support your theory. I think that’s absolutely what happened with me for Sam. Everything he did, I was like ‘well that’s traitorous.’”
Ellie also discussed the challenges of maintaining her relationship with Ross while participating in the game. “I definitely found it harder,” she admitted. Regarding their strategies as a couple, she explained, “Not too many because we knew that there were just going to be so many surprises that we’d just have to react in the moment.”
Their primary plan, according to Ellie, was to bond with different contestants to better defend each other in various social groups. This tactic reflects the complexities of navigating alliances and betrayals in the competitive environment of The Traitors.
As the competition progresses, the dynamics among the contestants continue to evolve, with alliances shifting and tensions rising. The interplay of strategy, psychology, and social interaction remains at the heart of this gripping reality show.
