Clubs Clash in Exciting 12th Round of Meridianbet 1. CFL
The excitement of football returns as the 12th round of the Meridianbet 1. CFL kicks off today, featuring a series of highly anticipated matches. The action begins with the clash between Bokelj and Jezero in Kotor at 15:00. Following this, Jedinstvo will host OFK Mladost at 16:30, while at 17:00, Petrovac takes on Sutjeska. The day’s matches culminate with Buducnost facing Arsenal at 18:00, concurrent with a showdown at Topolica between Mornar and league leaders Decic.
As the league progresses, half of the teams find themselves within striking distance of the top spots. Mornar, managed by Vesko Stešević, has remained unbeaten in their last six matches, securing three victories and three draws. The team is in good spirits, entering the match against Decic with momentum from two consecutive wins prior to the break.
“We needed some time to adjust to the new coach’s vision,” said Petar Vukcevic from Mornar. “So far, everything is going well. We’ve become much tougher, and that is reflected in our defensive performance.” The team is eager to take full points in their encounter with Decic, which would bring them closer to the top of the table.
Despite having a negative goal difference, Decic remains a formidable opponent, sitting at the top of the standings. “This indicates they are vulnerable, and we see an opportunity to win,” Vukcevic noted. He emphasized that their approach will remain unchanged, recognizing Decic’s position as a strong team with plenty of talented players.
While Mornar has faced numerous squad challenges, Vukcevic confirmed that all players, except for Zorić, are available for selection.
Buducnost Aims for Progress Against Arsenal
In a bid to close the gap on league leaders, Buducnost comes into their match against Arsenal following a significant victory in the Montenegrin derby. Currently sitting fourth with a four-point deficit from the top, a win today could significantly improve their standing.
“After our triumph in Niksic, we had a positive atmosphere during training,” said Dejan Vukicevic, the head coach of Buducnost. “We are focused on the immediate challenge against Arsenal, as it is crucial for our momentum.”
Buducnost will face Decic twice next week, first in the cup and then in the league, both matches to be played away. Vukicevic expressed confidence in his team’s capabilities, stating, “If we perform at our level, we should not focus too much on our rivals.”
The upcoming match against Arsenal is particularly significant for Buducnost, especially after losing to them in their previous encounter. The game ended controversially when it was interrupted due to lighting issues, leading to a unique situation that resulted in a 1-0 defeat for Buducnost.
Petrovac and Sutjeska: A Battle of Resilience
Petrovac, currently second in the league, faces Sutjeska, who sits just behind in third. Under the leadership of Zdravko Dragicevic, Petrovac has enjoyed a successful run, winning five out of six matches since his appointment.
“We will do everything to extend our positive results against Sutjeska,” Dragicevic remarked. He acknowledged the challenges posed by Sutjeska, a well-structured team that has struggled to maintain consistency lately. “Every game tells its own story; we know it will be tough, but we’re prepared.”
The conditions at Petrovac’s ground, known for its smaller dimensions and softer pitch, might pose difficulties. Dragicevic stated, “We haven’t trained on our home ground for about twenty days, but I hope the conditions will be favorable for our match today.”
At the bottom of the table, Bokelj seeks to break their winless streak at home, having not secured a victory yet in 2025. Under the management of Vladimir Savicevic, they are determined to change their fortunes. “Every match until the end of the season is crucial for us. We need points,” Savicevic stressed, as his team faces a critical challenge against Jezero.
With the stakes high across the league, today’s matches promise thrilling encounters as teams vie for pivotal points that could shape the remainder of the season. Football fans will be eagerly watching to see how these narratives unfold in the Meridianbet 1. CFL.
