Tottenham and Arsenal Compete for Eze as Transfer Window Closes

Rumors are intensifying as both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal prepare to vie for the signature of Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze. According to reports from various sources, Spurs are keen admirers of the 27-year-old international and are looking to bolster their squad before the summer transfer window closes on August 31, 2023. The competition for Eze comes as the Gunners also express interest but face challenges in making the deal feasible due to their need to offload players first.
Eze, who has a release clause of £68 million in his contract at Selhurst Park, is seen as a valuable addition for any club. The clause will become void two weeks prior to the window’s closure, adding urgency to any negotiations. Tottenham’s potential move for Eze would not hinder their pursuit of a winger from another club, demonstrating their commitment to strengthening their attacking options.
In other transfer news, five Italian clubs are reportedly tracking Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund. The 22-year-old international has attracted interest from clubs including AC Milan, Inter Milan, Lazio, Napoli, and Fiorentina. Following the signing of Rasmus Hojlund, Manchester United is prepared to consider offers for the young striker, with earlier reports suggesting a price tag of around £40 million could facilitate a transfer.
Italian club AS Roma has also made inquiries regarding Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. Reports indicate that Roma has been told to present an offer between €20 million and €25 million to secure the 25-year-old, who recently had a loan spell that saw him contribute to seven goals in 31 matches. While other clubs have shown interest, any formal approach from Roma is contingent on their ability to offload other players.
Meanwhile, Chelsea has entered the fray for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Blues are reportedly looking to challenge Manchester United for the services of the 26-year-old Italian, with recent reports suggesting that an offer of £26 million would be sufficient for Paris Saint-Germain to part ways with their star keeper. Donnarumma, who is set to become a free agent next summer, has expressed a preference for a move to the Premier League should he decide to leave the Parc des Princes.
Additionally, Liverpool has ramped up its interest in Leoni, an 18-year-old defender who has emerged as a significant target. The club is reportedly considering making an offer if their attempts to secure another centre-back do not materialize. Leoni has drawn attention from several teams in the Premier League, including Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, thanks to his impressive performances in 17 league appearances last season.
As the transfer window nears its conclusion, the landscape of player movement continues to shift, with clubs across Europe keen to finalize their squads ahead of the new season. The coming days will be critical for Spurs, Arsenal, and other clubs as they aim to secure their desired signings before the deadline.
