Police Charge Budva Man After Seizing Firearms and Ammunition

Authorities in Budva have filed criminal charges against an individual identified as I. Đ. following a police operation that uncovered illegal firearms and ammunition. The Budva police submitted the charges to the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Kotor based on suspicions of unlawful possession and carrying of weapons and explosives.

The police executed a court-authorized search on October 10, 2023, at two locations in Budva. During this operation, officers confiscated three rifles, one pistol, and 380 rounds of ammunition that were found in illegal possession. The search revealed a collection of firearms, including two hunting rifles, a hunting carbine, and a CZ-brand pistol.

Significantly, the police also discovered three boxes containing gunpowder. Authorities noted that I. Đ. did not possess the required documentation for this material, raising further legal concerns regarding his activities.

Following the search, the police will formally present the charges against I. Đ. to the prosecutor’s office in Kotor, emphasizing the seriousness of the alleged offences. The police administration has reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and compliance with firearm regulations in the region.
