Ilminster Party on the Park Seeks Volunteers and Sponsors for Charity

The Ilminster Party on the Park, a popular community event that raises significant funds for charity, is gearing up for its next edition on August 24, 2024. Organisers are appealing for more volunteers and sponsors to help ensure the event’s success. Known for its vibrant atmosphere, the event is set to take place at the Recreation Ground and is expected to attract a large crowd.
This annual celebration, which began in 2012 to commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee, has since raised over £110,000 for various local and national charities. With a broad range of activities planned, attendees can look forward to a classic car show, a family dog show, live music, dance performances, and numerous food stalls. There will also be plenty of entertainment for children, including bouncy castles, as well as raffles and tombolas.
Community Spirit and Fun Activities
According to Emma Jayne, one of the event’s organisers, the planning is in its final stages. “Once again, time has passed so quickly,” she noted. “There is still a chance to get involved. Please email us if you can offer support or wish to run a fundraising charity stall. We aim to have a great variety of stalls for many different charity groups, ensuring there is something for everyone.”
The organisers are particularly seeking sponsors to support the event financially or in other ways. “We rely on the generosity of the local community and businesses each year to put the event on,” Jayne added. This year, they are specifically looking for a sponsor for the Family Dog Show, hoping to make it the best yet.
Another member of the organisational team, Matt Sainsbury, expressed excitement about the entertainment planned for the day. “We have a great lineup of entertainment again this year, with something for everyone,” he said. The dog show, which will be run by local business Canine Kate, is expected to add an exciting element to the festivities.
Getting Involved and Supporting the Cause
Participants are encouraged to bring classic cars to showcase at the event. The organisers are keen to attract as many entries as possible to enhance the event’s appeal. Sainsbury also acknowledged the ever-present concern about the weather, stating, “We can do everything we possibly can to make the day run smoothly, but as we do every year, everything is crossed for a fine day.”
Those interested in volunteering or sponsoring the Ilminster Party on the Park can reach out to the organisers via email. For further information, the event can be followed on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, where updates will be regularly posted.
The Ilminster Party on the Park promises to be a fantastic day out for families and individuals alike, combining entertainment with a charitable cause that benefits the wider community.
