UK Airport Long-Stay Parking Costs Revealed: Edinburgh Leads

A new analysis has highlighted the varying costs of long-stay parking at major airports across the United Kingdom. Conducted by transport company Mozio, the study compared prices for leaving a vehicle at 13 key airports for a duration of seven days.

Leading the rankings for affordability is Edinburgh Airport, where the lowest parking fee is just £39.48 for a week. In contrast, East Midlands Airport charges £72.49 for the same period, making it more expensive but not the highest in the rankings.

The title of the most expensive long-stay parking goes to Newcastle Airport, with a staggering fee of £112.48 for a week. This places it above all other airports analyzed.

While the two main London airports, Heathrow and Gatwick, are slightly more affordable than East Midlands, their parking rates sit at £77.48 and £79.48 respectively. London Stansted offers a cheaper option at £67.49, whereas London Luton ranks among the most expensive at £88.84.

Additional airports that reported higher long-stay parking costs include Birmingham and Liverpool.

The pricing data reflects rates at the time of the research, which serves as a timely reminder for travelers planning their journeys. According to Nicole Kerr, CEO of Mozio, “The average price of a seven-night holiday is around £1,072 per person. On top of this fee, the last thing holidaymakers need to consider is how expensive airport parking costs might be.”

Kerr suggests that to alleviate the stress of airport travel, pre-booking an airport transfer can be advantageous. She notes that utilizing a ground transportation platform like Mozio guarantees a booking upon confirmation and allows travelers to choose their preferred mode of transport, be it taxi or limousine.

“Pre-booking your transfer in advance can be a much cheaper alternative to airport parking or calling for a taxi, where you risk last-minute price surges, especially for larger groups and luggage,” Kerr added.
