Consett Author Unveils Massive Book of Magic Ahead of Halloween
As Halloween approaches, Consett author Simon “The Kilted Occultist” Robson has introduced what he believes to be the world’s largest collection of magical texts, titled The Long Grimoire. This monumental work encompasses a staggering 7,193,205 words of spells, rituals, and esoteric knowledge sourced from various global traditions.
Robson, who publishes under the pen name S. Rob, describes The Long Grimoire as the culmination of his life’s work. He aims to consolidate occult traditions from around the world into a single, comprehensive guide. He refers to it as “the Bible of the occult,” asserting that those who engage with its contents could become adept in the magical arts.
“I’ve been working on it for many years,” Robson stated. “It draws on occultism everywhere — spells, rituals, protections — all woven into one massive document.” Although the book has yet to receive formal certification from Guinness World Records, Robson is confident it qualifies as the longest magical text ever created.
A Journey of Research and Transformation
The research process for The Long Grimoire was extensive and recursive, with each topic leading Robson to explore new threads of inquiry. Over time, what began as a straightforward project evolved into a “temple of magic,” far surpassing his initial vision. As a symbol of this transformation, he has adopted a new personal style, trading in his black jeans for a black kilt, aligning with his identity as “The Kilted Occultist.” He believes this change resonates more deeply with his spiritual journey.
For Robson, Halloween is not merely a holiday; it represents a sacred period when the veil between worlds is believed to thin. Much of his magical practice centers on crossing thresholds, making the celebration of Samhain particularly potent for his work.
Accessing the Grimoire
The Long Grimoire is available exclusively in digital format, purchasable through Robson’s website, www.srob.co.uk. Prices begin at £80, providing customers with a download code that grants permanent access to the text.
“If it were a printed volume, you’d need a massive bookcase,” he quipped. “It’s simply too vast to exist in physical form.” By selecting the term “grimoire” for his title, Robson aligns his work with a long-standing tradition of mystical spellbooks. A grimoire typically serves as a manual or textbook of magic, detailing instructions for casting spells, invoking spirits, and performing rituals. His choice of The Long Grimoire signifies its intention as a practical guide for those interested in magical practice.
As Halloween draws near, Robson’s ambitious release invites both enthusiasts and the curious to explore the depths of magic as he presents it. With its extensive content and unique approach, The Long Grimoire stands to make a significant impact on the contemporary occult community.
