Exorcist Priest Claims UFOs Are Demonic, Sparks Controversy
A Catholic exorcist priest has ignited a heated debate within both religious and UFO communities by asserting that many reported alien encounters are actually manifestations of demonic activity. In an interview conducted recently, Father Chad Ripperger articulated his belief that supposed extraterrestrial abductions mirror traditional cases of demonic possession, challenging prevailing views on unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
Father Ripperger’s remarks have drawn scrutiny from theologians, scientists, and UFO enthusiasts alike. He posits that when one examines the details of alien abductions, the descriptions often resemble classic signs of demonic oppression noted in Christian theology. He stated, “When you strip the veneer of the alien aspect off, what remains closely resembles classic manifestations of demonic activity.”
The priest highlighted that many alleged abductees recount encounters with beings claiming to be here to “save humanity” or usher in a new era. “That is Jesus Christ’s role, not aliens,” he asserted. He further noted that individuals who call out to Jesus during these experiences often report that the abduction suddenly ends. This observation leads him to conclude that the phenomenon is more spiritual than extraterrestrial.
Father Ripperger referenced Gary Bates‘ book, Alien Intrusion, which critiques the validity of numerous UFO sightings and argues that abduction accounts align with occult and demonic themes. While he acknowledged that some unidentified flying objects could be explained by military technology or misidentified aircraft, he maintained that certain disturbing cases could not be dismissed as mere imagination.
Despite the rising fascination with UFOs, the priest expressed skepticism regarding the existence of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. Drawing upon the Book of Genesis, he emphasized that Scripture centers on Earth’s creation while suggesting that both theology and science increasingly point to Earth as a unique entity. He remarked on the lack of definitive proof from space agencies regarding extraterrestrial life, stating, “Everywhere they look, they think they might have found life, and then they did not.”
In his view, the widespread belief in alien life often stems from evolutionary assumptions rather than substantial evidence. Father Ripperger argued that the absence of proof reinforces his conviction that many alien narratives are misinterpretations of spiritual realities instead of encounters with beings from another solar system.
He went further, claiming that discussions about aliens may serve as distractions from significant moral and spiritual crises on Earth. According to him, demons frequently use diversionary tactics to shift focus away from pressing moral issues. “They rarely do a frontal assault. They create diversions so people look the other way,” he stated.
Father Ripperger believes that the themes found in alien narratives, which often promise salvation, subtly undermine Christianity by proposing an alternative savior figure. He remarked, “The very same things demons want are the same type of stuff you hear the aliens talking about.”
While critics dismiss his statements as speculative, the priest insists that history is replete with examples of spiritual deception masquerading as enlightenment. He warned that an obsession with UFOs could expose individuals to occult influences if approached without discernment.
His comments emerge during a period of renewed public interest in UFOs, driven by government disclosures and viral footage of unexplained aerial phenomena. Scientists continue to investigate these occurrences, emphasizing that “unidentified” does not equate to “extraterrestrial.”
The theological community remains divided on the implications of potential alien life. Some scholars argue that discovering extraterrestrial life would not contradict Christian doctrine, while others, like Father Ripperger, assert that many reported encounters represent a form of spiritual warfare rather than cosmic exploration. As this discussion unfolds, the intersection of faith, science, and the unexplained continues to provoke thought and debate across various communities.
