Zeta Fest to Feature Regina and Iconic Bands in Montenegro
The Zeta Fest will take place in Golubovci, Montenegro, from October 11 to 15, 2023. The festival promises a vibrant atmosphere as it showcases renowned former Yugoslav bands, including Bajaga i Instruktori, Aerodrom, Crvena Jabuka, and Riblja Čorba, the latter of which will be performing with their new vocalist, Jovan Jeftić.
One of the festival’s highlights will be the concert by the band Regina, scheduled for October 13. In an interview with Pobjeda, the band’s founder and lead singer, Aleksandar Čović, known as Aco Regina, expressed excitement for the event. “We will perform for two to two and a half hours, taking the audience on a journey through time with some of our biggest hits,” he said. Regina will celebrate over 35 years of music, including songs from the 1990s and 2000s.
Aco Regina also mentioned a recent addition to the band that enhances their sound. “We have brought in Mr. Vlado Negovanović, a guitarist and producer who has collaborated with many prominent musicians from the Belgrade rock scene. His presence will ensure a richer and more powerful performance,” he noted.
The band cherishes its connection to Montenegro, recalling their last concert in December 2022 during the New Year’s Market in Podgorica. “The atmosphere was truly fantastic. We have a deep-rooted bond with Montenegro, dating back to our first mini tour right after we released our debut album in 1990,” Aco Regina shared. He emphasized the band’s enduring popularity in the region, noting that their song “Ružo moja,” which became an anthem for a generation in the 1990s, continues to resonate with audiences.
Aco expressed pride in sharing the stage with notable bands like Riblja Čorba and Crvena Jabuka. “It’s an honor to perform alongside such legendary groups. I grew up listening to their songs, and to be on the same lineup is a dream come true,” he remarked, hoping that Zeta Fest will establish itself as a significant cultural event in the region.
In addition to their festival appearance, Aco Regina revealed that the band is nearing completion of a new studio album. “The material is still in the studio, but if all goes according to plan, we expect to release it by the end of this year or early next year,” he stated, reflecting the band’s ongoing dedication to their craft.
As Zeta Fest approaches, anticipation builds for what promises to be a memorable celebration of music and community in Montenegro.
