Princess Beatrice and Eugenie Retain Titles Amid Family Changes

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will keep their royal titles despite their father, Prince Andrew, stepping back from public duties and relinquishing his own titles due to the fallout from the Epstein scandal. The decision appears to reflect a desire from both Prince Andrew and King Charles III to ensure the sisters maintain their royal status.
The princesses will continue to participate in royal family events, including gatherings at Sandringham during the Christmas season. Both Beatrice, aged 37, and Eugenie, aged 35, are expected to join their family for the festive celebrations, maintaining their connection to the royal fold.
Background and Current Roles
Princess Beatrice is ninth in line to the throne and works as an adviser for Afiniti, a company specializing in artificial intelligence software. She is also a co-founder of The Big Change Charitable Trust and holds several royal patronages, including the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and the Teenage Cancer Trust. Last Christmas, Beatrice attended the morning service at St Mary Magdalene Church near the King’s estate in Norfolk while her father was absent due to ongoing controversies surrounding his personal life.
Princess Eugenie, ranked twelfth in line to the throne, also serves as a patron for various charities, such as the Elephant Family and the European School of Osteopathy. Earlier this year, she became a mentor for The King’s Foundation’s 35 under 35 network of changemakers. She is a director at the contemporary art gallery Hauser & Wirth in London and co-founded the Anti-Slavery Collective charity.
Both sisters are married and have children. Beatrice wed millionaire property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a private ceremony during the pandemic in 2020, an event attended by her grandparents, the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Eugenie married wine merchant Jack Brooksbank in a celebrated ceremony at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in October 2018, attended by numerous royal and celebrity guests.
The retention of their titles underscores the ongoing effort by the royal family to navigate recent challenges while ensuring that the next generation remains connected to their heritage. As the royal family continues to adapt to changing public perceptions, the roles of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie may become increasingly significant in representing the monarchy.
