Pamela Anderson Unveils Renovated ‘Funky Grandma’ Home in Canada

Pamela Anderson has recently showcased her newly renovated home in Ladysmith, Canada, a picturesque retreat away from the hustle of her Hollywood career. The actress, known for her role in “Baywatch,” has transformed the property into a space that reflects her unique style and deep family connections.
Renovation Highlights of a Family Legacy
The property, located on the east coast of Vancouver Island, spans over seven acres and underwent a multi-phase design project earlier this year, led by the Vancouver-based design firm Studio Albertazzi. According to the studio’s principal, Francesca Albertazzi, the design aesthetic aimed for a “funky grandma” vibe. This concept draws on nostalgia and a sense of comfort, with playful touches throughout the home.
Albertazzi humorously noted that the front room once served as a store run by Anderson’s grandparents, adding a layer of sentimental value to the space. The interior features a vibrant kitchen complete with a breakfast nook, decorated with charming floral cushions. The home, affectionately called Arcady, is both a family heirloom and a personal retreat.
With five bedrooms, a guest house, and three bathrooms, the residence also boasts a rustic basement area. Outside, a white glass-ceiling potting shed complements the interior’s floral aesthetics, while an alfresco dining area is surrounded by greenery and fairy lights, creating an inviting atmosphere for evening meals.
A Trendy Retreat with Personal Touches
The choice of a “grandma chic” style may seem unexpected for a Hollywood star, but Rachel Avery, Homes Editor at HELLO!, points out that this trend reflects a broader movement towards traditional and retro interiors. Avery explains that the aesthetic incorporates antique furniture and floral designs, evoking a sense of nostalgia and warmth.
“Pamela’s ‘funky grandma’ home perfectly demonstrates this shift back into shabby chic, lived-in and generally super-cosy surroundings,” said Avery.
Anderson’s connection to the property is deeply personal. She purchased the home from her grandparents 30 years ago, making it a significant part of her family history. It is a place where her parents once lived, and where her two sons, Brandon and Dylan, took their first steps. Anderson has mentioned that the property serves as a family gathering spot, where her sons enjoy gardening together during their visits.
In an interview with Architectural Digest, she shared her pride in their gardening skills. “Both of my sons are very good at gardening, but Brandon has taken it to another level,” Anderson remarked. “He does the drawings and the graphs and the grids and the arrows and writes the Latin names of plants. He’s so helpful…And Dylan, he’s just got the cool factor. He knows when things look good and peaceful and right.”
As Anderson balances her public persona with a private sanctuary, her Canadian retreat serves as a reminder of her roots and the importance of family amidst the glamour of show business. The home not only reflects her personal taste but also embodies cherished memories and a sense of tranquility away from the limelight.
