King’s Lynn Malayali Community Celebrates Christmas and New Year Together
Families from the King’s Lynn Malayali Community gathered for a vibrant celebration on January 10, 2024, marking a belated Christmas and New Year. The event fostered a sense of togetherness, with local officials and community members reflecting on themes of spirit and unity. Borough Mayor Andy Bullen made a special appearance to honor the occasion.
The celebrations commenced with an official inauguration led by Cllr Bullen and his consort, Jane Jestice. The gathering was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Babu Chiriyankandath from the Sacred Heart Church in King’s Lynn. A spokesperson from the community remarked, “The event was attended by a large number of community members and families and reflected the spirit of unity, cultural harmony, and festive joy within the Lynn Malayali community.”
Community Leaders Join Festivities
The event featured several key figures from the community, including president Mr. Eldo, secretary Jomon Kizhakkethil, and treasurer Mr. Saju. Other notable members included Malu, Nisari, Poncy, Litty, Sarath, Jaimon, and Stemin. Their participation underscored the community’s commitment to cultural celebration and support for one another.
Mayor Bullen delivered a speech that highlighted the importance of community and cultural diversity. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to join in the festivities, emphasizing the role of such gatherings in strengthening bonds among residents.
