Inverness Dental Practice Enhances Services with New Surgeon

A dental practice in Inverness has bolstered its team with the addition of oral surgeon Andrew Brewer, who brings over 40 years of clinical expertise to his new position at Torwood Dental Practice. This facility is part of the Clyde Munro Dental Group and is located on Kenneth Street in the city.
Previously based near Glasgow, Brewer has extensive experience in providing complex surgical care in both hospital and general practice environments. His career spans more than 30 years as an associate specialist in oral surgery at the Royal Infirmary of Glasgow, where he focused on treating medically vulnerable patients.
Brewer is registered on the General Dental Council’s specialist lists for oral surgery and special care dentistry. He is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow and has held significant leadership roles in global organizations, including the World Federation of Haemophilia.
Streamlining Patient Care
At Torwood Dental Practice, Brewer leads a monthly oral surgery clinic designed to improve access to specialized care, particularly for patients traveling from rural areas. The clinic aims to provide both consultation and surgery in a single visit, thereby reducing the need for multiple appointments.
“What we’re doing in Inverness is delivering safe, effective oral surgery in a way that’s more convenient for patients and referring dentists alike,” Brewer stated. “This is about improving access to specialist care where it’s needed most.”
The head of clinical at Clyde Munro, Charlie Evans, remarked that Brewer’s appointment marks a significant advancement for dental services in the Highlands. “His expertise enables us to provide high-quality, specialist care closer to home for patients who would otherwise face long journeys for treatment,” Evans said.
With Brewer’s extensive background and the innovative approach of the new clinic, Torwood Dental Practice is poised to enhance dental care offerings in Inverness, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective treatment tailored to their needs.
