Gynecological Laparoscopic Surgeries Now Offered at Bijelo Polje Hospital
The management of Opšta bolnica Bijelo Polje has announced the introduction of gynecological laparoscopic surgeries at their facility, enhancing the range of surgical options available to patients. This development signifies an important step in providing advanced healthcare services within the community.
Under the leadership of Dr. Kenan Erović, the hospital has acquired the necessary technical and technological equipment to support these procedures. The first laparoscopic surgeries have already been successfully conducted, marking a significant milestone for the hospital and its medical team.
The initial procedures were performed by Dr. Mališa Leković, the head of surgery, alongside Dr. Magdalena Leković, the head of obstetrics. They addressed various gynecological issues, including ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancies, benign tumors, pelvic inflammations, abscesses, and sterilizations, all through minimally invasive techniques.
Patients have benefitted from these advancements, experiencing rapid recovery times and a swift return to their daily routines. Notably, they have reported minimal scarring and few complications, underscoring the effectiveness of laparoscopic methods.
The anesthesia support team, led by Dr. Kenan Erović and Dr. Ranko Caković, along with assistants Dr. Milivoje Stijović, Balša Rakočević, Danijela Gvozdenović, Maida Čoković, Denisa Hadrović, and Ivana Kljajević, played a vital role in ensuring the success of these procedures.
In their statement, the hospital emphasized that these laparoscopic procedures have become a standard offering, now accessible to all patients in need. The initiative reflects the concerted efforts of the hospital’s administration, gynecologists, surgeons, and anesthesiologists, all aimed at improving the health and well-being of the community in Bijelo Polje.
This expansion of surgical services underscores the hospital’s commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care, ensuring that residents have access to modern medical treatments without the need to travel to distant facilities for specialized surgeries.
