Vinnie Jones Returns as Geoffrey Seacombe in The Gentlemen Season Two

Filming for the highly anticipated second season of The Gentlemen resumed this weekend in Slough, with actor Vinnie Jones reprising his role as the tough character Geoffrey Seacombe. Jones, known for his hardman persona, was spotted filming dramatic scenes while driving a classic Land Rover Defender through a fog-laden set, a nod to the show’s gritty aesthetic.
As production continues, Jones was seen interacting with crew members between takes, dressed in a khaki outfit that complements his character’s rugged image. Joining him on set were co-stars Jasmine Blackborow and Benjamin Clementine, the latter making his debut in the series.
Filming Details and Cast Additions
The filming for season two kicked off in June under the direction of Guy Ritchie, who originally helmed the 2019 film that inspired the series. The show quickly gained traction on Netflix, becoming one of the platform’s biggest successes in 2024 with over 44 million views in the first four weeks of its release.
The cast also features Theo James as the aristocrat Eddie Halstead and Kaya Scodelario portraying Susie Glass, the daughter of crime boss Ray Winstone’s character. Notably, Hugh Bonneville, famous for his role in Downton Abbey, will join the cast in a secretive role, which insiders suggest is crucial to the season’s narrative arc.
A source revealed to The Sun that Bonneville’s character will diverge from his typical wholesome roles, sporting a new look complete with grey hair and thick glasses. This transformation has intrigued fans of the actor who are accustomed to seeing him in more genteel settings.
Critical Reception and Future Prospects
The first season of The Gentlemen received a warm reception, achieving a 75 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an impressive 83 percent on the audience score. Viewers praised the show for its blend of humor and action, highlighting the ensemble cast’s chemistry and the engaging storytelling style typical of Ritchie’s work.
Comments on platforms such as IMDb reflect a growing appreciation for the series, with many calling it a “must-watch” and noting its potential to become an instant classic. Critics have lauded the balance of comedic moments and intense drama, showcasing Ritchie’s unique filmmaking style.
As filming progresses, fans eagerly anticipate the continuation of the storyline that explores Eddie Halstead’s discovery of a vast drug empire within his inherited estate. This combination of drama, action, and an engaging cast sets the stage for what promises to be another captivating season.
The return of The Gentlemen not only marks a significant moment for its cast and crew but also reinforces the show’s position as a standout in Netflix’s original programming. With its blend of star power and compelling narratives, the series is poised to capture even more viewers when it premieres.
