Streaming star Ludwig recently shared insights about his charitable endeavors and the shift to multistreaming during an interview on the set of State Farm’s annual competition show, Gamerhood. This season features prominent influencers, including Mark Phillips and Berleezy, competing in various challenges to raise over $100,000 for charities of their choice. The series showcases popular games like Marvel Rivals and Fortnite, with episodes airing every Friday in August at 18:00 ET.

Participating in Gamerhood for the third time, Ludwig discussed the unique blend of virtual competition and physical challenges that the show offers. Beyond gaming, these content creators engage in real-life activities that require both strategy and physical skill, adding depth to the competition.

Reflecting on Charity Stunts

Ludwig is no stranger to undertaking outrageous challenges for charitable causes. In 2022, he famously confined himself in a glass box for 50 hours to raise $100,000 for Alveus Sanctuary and No Kid Hungry. The event, which he called the “Subathon 2.0,” garnered significant attention, ultimately raising over $300,000 for the two organizations. Throughout the event, Ludwig found himself in amusing predicaments, including donning a clown suit and getting a bowl cut.

When asked about the wildest thing he has done for charity, he recounted a grueling experience playing every song in Rock Band for 12 hours to support efforts for the LA wildfires. “We ended up raising a quarter-million, which is really cool,” he said, recognizing the challenge of enduring a series of self-imposed punishments during the stream that tested his limits.

For Ludwig, participation in such charitable events is a fundamental part of his streaming career. He expressed enthusiasm for annual fundraisers and highlighted events like the Streamer Games, where top broadcasters compete in various athletic challenges. “We’re gonna continue to do big events,” he assured, mentioning plans for new initiatives this year.

Embracing Multistreaming

Ludwig’s recent transition to multistreaming on both YouTube and Twitch marked a significant change in his approach to content creation. Previously cautious about this shift, he described the experience as somewhat “weird.” He noted, “I think multi-streaming is weird. I don’t know exactly what the best thing is, and I don’t think it’s necessarily consistent from person to person.”

He explained that Twitch’s video-on-demand (VOD) service has declined in usability, prompting him to explore YouTube’s advantages. “When you stream on YouTube, it’s like a catalog forever, which is really convenient,” he remarked. Ludwig emphasized that his motivation for streaming on both platforms is not solely about increasing viewership but also about making content more accessible for his audience.

The current season of Gamerhood benefits from this dual streaming approach, allowing viewers to tune in through multiple channels. The competition promises not only engaging gameplay but also a commitment to philanthropy, making it a compelling watch for fans and supporters.

As Ludwig continues to push boundaries in both gaming and charitable efforts, his dedication to impactful streaming remains evident. With every challenge and stream, he not only entertains but also inspires others to contribute to worthy causes.
