Eva Price Returns to Coronation Street as Rovers Landlady

The long-anticipated return of Eva Price to *Coronation Street* has been confirmed, with actress Catherine Tyldesley stepping back into the role after a seven-year hiatus. She will take on the position of landlady at the iconic Rovers Return pub in Weatherfield. Tyldesley’s return is accompanied by new cast members, Aaron McCusker and Pauline McLynn, who will portray Eva’s partner, Ben Driscoll, and his meddlesome mother, Maggie.
The storyline is set to unfold this October, with Eva and her new family becoming the pub’s owners. As part of the narrative, Eva will reconnect with her sisters, Leanne Battersby (played by Jane Danson) and Toyah Battersby (portrayed by Georgia Taylor). Viewers can expect the introduction of Ben’s two sons and Eva’s daughter, Suzie, who producers indicate will arrive with a significant impact.
Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks expressed her excitement about Eva’s return, stating, “We are beyond thrilled that Eva is returning as the landlady of the Rovers, with her new blended family in tow.” She highlighted that the Driscolls will not arrive quietly, promising “big drama, explosive secrets and raucous knees-ups galore.” Brooks further praised the caliber of actors, saying, “To have actors of Catherine, Aaron, and Pauline’s considerable calibre at the beating heart of this family is absolutely wonderful.”
Both McLynn and McCusker bring a wealth of experience to the production. McLynn is best known for her role as Mrs. Doyle in *Father Ted* and Libby in *Shameless*, while also appearing in *EastEnders* in 2014. McCusker portrayed Jamie McGuire in *Shameless* and played Jim Hutton, Freddie Mercury’s boyfriend, in the 2018 biopic *Bohemian Rhapsody*.
As *Coronation Street* continues to engage audiences, the inclusion of these new characters is expected to create fresh dynamics and storylines within the beloved series. The show airs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays on ITV at 20:00. Fans are eager to see how Eva’s return will reshape the lives of Weatherfield residents and the future of the Rovers Return.
