Discover the 10 Most Affordable Streets to Buy a Home in North Wales
House prices in North Wales have seen significant increases over the past two decades, often outpacing the rise in average wages. Despite this trend, there remain various affordable options for potential homeowners in the region. According to data from the Land Registry and informed by regional market trends, North Wales Live has compiled a list of the ten most affordable streets for purchasing a home.
Affordable Options Along the Coast
Many of these economical properties are located in seaside towns that have faced economic challenges in recent years. This list highlights regions where homebuyers can find well-priced opportunities, particularly attractive for first-time buyers and investors.
John Street in Rhyl (LL18) stands out as one of the historically lowest-priced streets, with flats and small terraced houses frequently selling for under £50,000. Similarly, Lawson Road in Colwyn Bay (LL29) is known for its highly affordable apartment conversions and smaller residential units, making it a practical choice for those seeking budget-friendly options.
Another notable entry is Bodfor Street in Rhyl (LL18), which is centrally located and features a high density of affordable flats. Buyers can also find Penrhyn Road in Colwyn Bay (LL29), where lower-priced units are consistently available, attracting a mix of investors and first-time buyers.
Additional Affordable Streets in North Wales
The long stretch of Conway Road in Colwyn Bay (LL29) has sections that offer some of the region’s most competitively priced apartments. Moreover, Kinmel Street in Rhyl (LL18) often presents terraced housing and flats at significant discounts compared to the Welsh average.
Another reliable option is Crescent Road in Rhyl (LL18), which has consistently featured among the budget-friendly coastal properties.
In Wrexham (LL13), the Caia Park Streets, including Prince Charles Road and Whitegate Road, rank as some of the most affordable areas for homebuyers in the region.
Lastly, High Street in Blaenau Ffestiniog (LL41) is notable for being the most affordable location in Gwynedd, offering very low-priced stone terraces in its central streets. Similarly, High Street in Trawsfynydd (LL41) provides extremely competitive pricing for those interested in rural properties in Gwynedd.
As house prices continue to rise, these streets represent viable options for those looking to enter the property market without exceeding their budgets.
