Sky TV Launches Streaming Deals to Encourage Dish Ditching

Sky TV is urging customers to abandon traditional satellite dishes in favor of its new streaming service, Sky Stream. The company has unveiled a series of attractive offers that emphasize the shift towards broadband-based television viewing. These packages include a mini set-top box, the Sky Stream, which can be easily installed by users.
The latest deals feature high-speed internet access alongside popular streaming channels. Prices for these bundles start at just £35 per month, providing customers with an opportunity to access premium content while enjoying improved internet speeds. Customers signing up can expect download speeds of 300Mbps, double the previous 150Mbps offering.
Details of the Offers
One of the standout packages, Sky Stream Essential, includes access to Sky Atlantic and over 100 additional channels. This offer is priced at £35 per month, alongside the enhanced broadband speed. For those seeking a broader selection of channels, the Sky Stream Ultimate plan is available for £39 per month, adding Sky Max, Sky Witness, and more than 150 channels to the mix.
Additionally, sports fans can opt for the Essential plan with Sky Sports, priced at £55 per month. All offers come bundled with subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+, ensuring a comprehensive entertainment experience.
Benefits of Sky Stream
The Sky Stream box is designed for convenience, arriving by post and requiring simple installation. Users need only to connect it to their broadband service to access a range of live and on-demand content. The platform also features personalized recommendations and a playlists function, enhancing the viewing experience by allowing users to save content for later.
In addition to the Sky Stream offerings, Sky has also made significant changes to its NOW platform, introducing discounts of up to 50% on select plans. For instance, the Entertainment Membership is now available for just £4.99 per month, down from £9.99. The Cinema Membership is priced at £6.99, while the Sports package costs £28. Customers can use any compatible device, such as smart TVs, tablets, or smartphones, to access NOW.
Sky’s shift towards streaming reflects a broader trend in the television industry, as more viewers opt for flexible viewing options. With attractive pricing and enhanced services, these new deals may be the nudge that many customers need to leave their satellite dishes behind for good.
